Copper, Aluminium, Steel
The main brazing alloys used in the automotive industry are copper, aluminium, silver and platinum-containing alloys.
Brazed components can be found, for example, in torque converters. Guide plates are brazed to pump wheels, turbine wheels and guide wheels. By this arrangement engine power can be transferred to the drive shaft.
Brazing processes in the automotive industry are necessary in the construction of fuel, break, exhaust, air and water pipe assemblies. Mounting lugs are brazed or welded to those pipes. Often connection pieces or flanges have to be brazed to the end of a pipe to ensure a tight connection.
Pastes, rings and preforms are common shapes of brazing alloys used in this market.
